
How will you vote?
Ah ! Elections would be a lot less titillating if it weren’t for polls. They gage each candidate’s popularity and tell us how they would fare if the election was to be held that. By extrapolating the results from a few thousand of electors polls somehow manage to take the pulse of the whole population. Seems pretty wild! Nevertheless, people are always clamoring for them! We are becoming increasingly aware of the power of our vote. You realize how crucial every vote is when you look at the very close races and inconclusive polls, not to mention the French 2002 protest vote against the main parties which pushed the extreme right to a historical high result.
I know I will be voting in a few days to elect our next French President but, as yet, I don’t know who I will cast my vote for. I would like to vote for the candidate who most closely reflects my thoughts and values, but this is not such an easy thing when you consider what’s at play: platform, personality, past experience, public profile ….
So I came up with an interactive notepad to help me sift through the options during this presidential election. I imagined a simple, practical and very precise questionnaire without political or ideological leanings. Read the rest of this entry »
